Everyone told me I had to wait, but I didn’t care. I just knew I would always have to earn enough money to take care of me and the house, and that’s what I did.”

Haddish continued, “Between the next season of the show, Keanu, and making sure I could live comfortably off $500 a month, I was able to pay off half of the house. The Girls’ Journey check was the last choice. People told me to spend it in other ways, But I used it to pay the house rent because I was always afraid of being homeless again.”

“Now I have a surplus of money,” he concluded. “But I still feared that I would be poor again. In every movie I made, I would buy another piece of land or a house.”

“Girl Trip” had a star from Haddish, who won a New York Film Critics Circle Award for supporting the actress. The 2017 Summer Comedy has co-starred with Regina Hall, Queen Latifah and Jada Pinkett Smith. The film was a huge success at the box office, grossing $140 million worldwide on a production budget of $19 million. Director Malcolm D. Lee said a sequel is still in the works, but Universal Pictures has yet to announce anything official.
