Given the dynamic on screen, it might not surprise you to know that there has been a time or two when Karl Urban tortured Jack Quaid on set boys. Urban revealed, “The whale is probably one of the craziest scenes I’ve ever filmed in my career, to tell you the truth.” “I was actually driving the speedboat, and the day we picked was actually a very windy day. So, I was going really fast and I was like, actually, the air was coming off the waves. Poor Jack Quaid wasn’t, I think, in a speedboat, let alone About a speedboat jumping on the waves and flying through the air, he was horrified.
Urban continued, “He had a safety word, ‘Carl.’ He’s sitting at the front of the boat and not facing me. He seems to be screaming at the top of his voice. It’s like ‘Carl, Carl, Carl, Carl!’ I didn’t hear him. But we finished running and it was this kid. Poor guy is as white as paper. I thought he was seasick or something, but he was terrified. We ended up exchanging him and we had someone else come dress up as Hughie, and this guy liked it. He had a ball.”
Production is set to begin this month on the series’ fourth season, with Urban himself revealing the exact condition in an interview with collider. “I think we’re starting on August 22, we’re going to start season four,” Urban said in June. “So I go back, I get my butcher back, and I can’t wait. It’s a fun gang to play with, we work hard and we play hard, and I can’t wait to see where they take the characters from. We leave them at the end of this season.”
