16-year-old Sophie Araque Liu has been announced as the winner of the Meet Doodle for Google 2022 Sophie Araque-Liu 2022 competition, and the company will be showing off her artwork throughout August!
The annual competition allows students across the United States to submit Google Doodle artwork to fit their topic. This year, the theme was “I take care of myself…”
The objective of the topic was to think of positive ways for students to rejuvenate their mental and physical health.
Let’s meet the Google winner for Doodle 2022, Sophie Araque-Liu.
Who is Sophie Araki-Leo?
Based in Florida, Sophie is a student at Martin County High School.
Her artwork from Florida was selected from thousands of entries and after being nominated she said TC Palm: “I am not used to all the attention. But I am very happy and very excited.”
She was nominated for the first time after presenting her artwork for three years.
As for her latest award-winning art, she represented the theme of “I take care of myself” using a photo of her embracing her mother.

What is the Google Doodle Money Prize 2022?
Sophie received a college scholarship of $30,000. Meanwhile, her school will receive a $50,000 tech package, which is supposed to be used to improve the lab’s facilities.
Additionally, her artwork will be displayed on the Google Home page as well as the Chrome New Tab page.
Her artwork, titled Not Alone, is believed to encourage viewers to seek help in difficulties and remind them that they are surrounded by loved ones.
Who are the judges?
Among the judges at Doodle for Google in 2022 were Selena Gomez and Teacher of the Year 2021, Juliana Ortube.
This was followed by five rounds of public voting to select the best artwork from five different age groups.
The panel of judges reduced the number of finalists to one winner and Sophie was awarded the coveted prize.
