As she gets older, that bad attitude or [those] Barb notes, it’s almost hard not to make her look like any other teenage girl, so it’s like we’re establishing this character and giving her the same fire without letting her become something she isn’t? Also, it’s an eight-hour series, so for a character with no emotion, there has to be some kind of emotional arc.”
