After reports that Jim Ratcliffe had expressed an interest in buying Manchester United, attention turned to his family life with his wife Alicia and children.

The 69-year-old British billionaire, who is from Greater Manchester, has expressed interest in buying the football club times this week.

“If the club is for sale, Jim is definitely a potential buyer,” a spokesperson for Ratcliffe told the outlets. “If something like that was possible, we’d be interested in talking from a long-term ownership perspective.”

At the age of 40, he co-founded INSPEC before setting up Ineos in Hampshire and buying his business partners. Ratcliffe moved Ineos’ headquarters from Hampshire to Rolle, Switzerland in 2010.

The Sunday Times Rich List ranks Ratcliffe as the richest man in the UK with a net worth of £21.05 billion.

Ratcliffe is known for flaunting luxury cars and super yachts.

After selling his luxury yacht Hampshire in 2011, the billionaire bought the luxury yacht The Hampshire II for £130 million. The superyacht measures 257 feet 6 inches and can accommodate 14 guests and 23 crew members.

Hampshire II has the perfect features for a fun day out which include a swimming pool, beach club, helipad, jacuzzi, sauna and cinema, as well as six large cabins.

Among other luxury toys for Ratcliffe, the billionaire owns four private planes and a number of cars, including his beloved Land Rover Defender.
