Jose Enrique wishes Liverpool were signing player that just joined Premier League club!

Jose Enrique answered Wolves, who signed Matheus Nunes from Sporting Lisbon, have been told they wish the Portuguese midfielder had joined Liverpool instead – amid reports the Reds are long-term admirers of Nunes.

Brazil-born Nunes, 23, has joined Wolves for a club-record fee. an initial £38m, plus around £4m in add-ons. It comes after the Portuguese ace made 100 appearances for Sporting in 21-22 and 101 for the Liga NOS side.

“The Guardian” writes that “Liverpool” and “Manchester City” are interested in Nunes. But given that he is represented by Jorge Mendes, who has strong links with Wolves, he headed to the Midlands for a club-record deal.

Given Liverpool’s belief that they could do with a midfielder and their interest in Nunes, Enrique responded. He said he often uses social media to talk to Liverpool fans: “I wish it was us, but congratulations Wolverhampton.”

Enrique wants Nunes to join Liverpool as Wolves complete a move

“Liverpool” needs a midfielder. Naby Keita is in the final year of his contract and there are conflicting reports as to whether he will sign new terms. Jordan Henderson and James Milner are 68-year-old midfielders.

Nunes is the best player. He is more of a defensive midfielder, a No. 6 who will sit in front of Fabinho. But he is very good at scoring alone or assisting. He scored 12 goals in 50 games last season.

But what sets him apart from the rest is his work rate, passing and football intelligence. He is a real talent. At 23, he will only get better. “Liverpool” could really manage his arrival at “Anfield”. Maybe one for the future.
