On the film side, Orphan: First Kill brings chills and goosebumps, while Look Both Ways is the next generation of sliding doors featuring two different timelines that run in one moment.
Here’s our guide on what to watch this weekend.
Dragon House (HBO)
If you’ve still had a bad taste in your mouth since the end of Game of Thrones, you’re not alone. The last season… Hell, the last two seasons were cursed by almost everyone, including me. HBO hopes to erase all those bad intentions by garnering the participation and blessing of author George R. R. Martin once again and turning back time. The way back. In the House of the Dragon, winter has not come for nearly two centuries.
The book’s introduction derives from Fire and Blood, Martin’s history of the Targaryen family (ancestors of Daenerys). Specifically, the first season focuses on the events leading up to The Dance of the Dragons, an appropriately fiery and bloody civil war that pits family members and their dragons against each other. As King Viserys (Paddy Considine) advances, he must name an heir and shock the nobility of Westeros by choosing a woman, his daughter Rhaenyra (Emma Darcy). As a result, a different Game of Thrones was released – a game that would eventually lead to the downfall of House Targaryen.

She-Hulk: Lawyer (Disney Plus)
The first Marvel comic series centers on Jennifer Walters, a lawyer-turned-hulk after her blood mixed with that of her cousin, Bruce Banner. The show is a bit like if Ally McBeal becomes a superhero and cleverly breaks the fourth wall aside La Fleabag. Tatiana Maslany applies the same Emmy-winning transformation skills for Orphan Black here, navigating between legal ace Jennifer and taller, stronger, and greener Strong woman.
Getting used to her new strength is just the beginning, as Jennifer also has to deal with her changing condition. She’s not just a low-level lawyer anymore. She is a rather famous “individual philanthropist”. Navigating dating apps is getting more and more complicated. And now her work is expanding to include dealing with other characters from the MCU, such as Sorcerer Supreme Wong (Benedict Wong) and Abomination (Tim Roth).

Bad Sisters (Apple TV Plus)
Sharon Horgan’s funny, evil mind actually helped create the disaster masterpiece. Now, she is behind this dark comedy/thriller about five sisters, a dead husband and a murder investigation. The Garvey sisters promised to always look out for each other. When one of them is abused by her cruel husband, the rest decide to protect her by killing him.
It seemed like it started out as half a joke, but then they set out to explore what it would take to bring about the death of their brother-in-law. Months later, when he ends up dead, a shady life insurance agent starts snooping and asking questions. Besides Horgan, sisters Anne-Marie Duff, Eva Berthestle, Sarah Green and Eve Hewson played.

See both ways (Netflix)
Riverdale star Lili Reinhart is living her own version of Sliding Doors when her soon-to-be-coming character, Natalie, faces an unplanned pregnancy. That moment splits into two parallel timelines, as the non-pregnant Natalie continues her five-year plan to succeed in one and have the baby in the other.
Career gal Natalie heads to Los Angeles to work in animation and gets a job as an assistant to her idol, character designer Lucy (Nia Long). She also meets her handsome boyfriend (David Corinsweet). Meanwhile, pregnant Natalie returns home with her parents (Luke Wilson and Andrea Savage) and gives birth to the child, though she refuses to marry father Gabe (Danny Ramirez). Her ambitions, friendships, and romance slipped away from motherhood. But as with Sliding Doors, both paths have ups and downs for Natalie to navigate.

Legacy: The True Story of the Los Angeles Lakers (Hulu)
The Los Angeles Lakers’ successful Showtime era of the 1980s was dramatized earlier this year at the time of HBO’s win. It was not created with the collaboration or blessing of such major characters as the Buss family, Jerry West, Magic Johnson, and Kareen Abdul-Jabbar. In fact, he criticized them all for inaccuracy.
Now, they have a chance to make things right in the 10-part documentary series Legacy, directed by Antoine Fuqua. It features extensive interviews with Lakers CEO Jenny Boss, late owner Jerry Boss, and many of the team’s players, coaches and former opponents. As a result, the documentary is much more than a love letter to the franchise. Don’t expect any high-impact exposures or slices for bad behavior so prominent in Winning Time.

Sprung
If you liked Greg Garcia’s previous series My Name Is Earl and Raising Hope, you’ll surely dig into his new project, Sprung. Garcia wrote and directed every episode of the limited series, so it’s widely autographed and well-meaning. He rounded up some of his former lieutenants, including Martha Plimpton and Garrett Delahunt.
The show follows three criminals released from prison in the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic. They have very few choices about where they go, because everyone is in a closed position. One invites the other to stick with his mother, who is recruiting them for her criminal operation – stealing Amazon packages (this is very interesting considering that Freevee is owned by Amazon). A fit of conscience leads them to decide about stealing only the bad guys, starting with the toilet paper hoarder.

Orphan: First Kill (Paramount Plus)
In the prequel to the 2009 horror film, Orphan sees Isabelle Fuhrmann reprising her role as Esther Albright, the adopted 9-year-old who terrorizes her poor, miserable parents. It turns out she wasn’t actually a child, but a psychotic adult woman with a hormonal disorder that had stunted her growth.
Before all this, Esther was an inmate in a psychiatric facility in Estonia. She orchestrates a wonderful escape to America by impersonating the missing daughter of a wealthy family. Tricia and Allen Albright (Julia Styles and Rusev Sutherland) are so happy to be back after four years, and overlook her changed looks and accent. But they soon become suspicious and Esther will do whatever it takes to hold on to her new life.
