Toni Collette and Josh Charles star in The Power at Amazon

Toni Collette and Josh Charles signed for roles on Amazon series ‘The Power’ diverse Learn.

Collette (“Hereditary”, “The Staircase”) takes on the role previously held by Leslie Mann, who left the show when production was delayed due to the pandemic. Charles (“We Own This Town”, “The Good Wife”) will play the role previously played by Tim Robbins. , who himself took the role from Ryan Wilson.

Additionally, Raelle Tucker (“Jessica Jones”, “True Blood”) joined “The Power” as executive producer and show director. Her role on the show is part of a package deal she signed with Amazon.

Collette and Charlies join a cast that already includes Auli’i Cravalho, John Leguizamo, Eddie Marsan, Ria Zmitrowicz, Toheeb Jimoh, Zrinka Cvitesic and Ana Ularu.

Based on the novel of the same name by Naomi Alderman, “The Force” is described as our world, but of one kind of nature. Suddenly and without warning, all the teenage girls in the world gain the ability to electrocute people whenever they want. The show follows a cast of characters from London to Seattle, Nigeria to Eastern Europe, as strength develops from the twitching of teens’ collarbones to a complete reversal of the balance of power in the world.

Collette will appear in the series as a regular role of Margot Cleary Lopez, the mayor of Seattle. The character is described as a genuinely original and progressive politician who strives hard for change. She has a sharp tongue, a sinister sense of humor, and a passion for leaving the world better than she found it. She is also a devoted mother of three, including Jos (Cravalho), and wife to 20-year-old husband Rob (Leguizamo). When strength emerges, Margot is pushed into the spotlight, opening the door to unimaginable possibilities – both personally and politically.

Charles will appear as a recurring guest star for Daniel Dandon, the governor of Washington. He is described as a skilled politician. Dandon is a liberal and a Democrat, and a skilled political animal. A seasoned teacher who excels at playing the game – and preparing to be the next Senator from Washington State. That is, until the emergence of force.

Tucker is represented by UTA and McKuin Frankel Whitehead. Collette is represented by CAA, Finley Management, United Management and Jackoway Tyerman. Charles is represented by UTA.

Along with Tucker, Jane Featherstone and Naomi de Beer of SISTER are also executive producers along with Naomi Alderman, Reed Morano and Claire Wilson. Tim Bricknell is a co-executive producer, as is Sarah Quintrell.
