George RR Martin has more “creative influence” than he did on Game of Thrones

The second episode of the program Dragon House He will be released tonight. The show’s first episode broke HBO’s viewing records last week, and has already been renewed for a second season. The show is based on the novel by George R. R. Martin fire and bloodand follows the rise of the Targaryen family, and takes place about 200 years ago Game of thrones. Recently, Martin was a guest on History of Westeros audio notation (Across Culture Pop Art) revealed that he has more “influence” over the prequel series, but he still has no “control”.

“Hollywood will give you much easier money than it will give you creative control,” Martin laughed. “You can go into negotiations and say ‘Yes, I’m going to thank you for the $8 million, but I’d like creative control too.’ And they say, ‘What do you think of ten million? They’d rather give millions of dollars over any creative control.'”

“What I have is influence, I have a creative influence,” Martin added, “but that largely depends on the relationship I have with the showrunners and so on. I mean, I can make points, I can argue and listen, but if they decide not to listen, then I can convince them. I do not have the ability to be hired or fired. I don’t have the strength to dictate things, but what I have, if they listen to me and I can be fairly persuasive and I know this material very well, therefore, something is and always changes.”

Martin continued, “You know, I had a lot of input in the beginning Game of thronesPartly because I had these books there. But at a certain point, as the show went on, I found my influence was getting less and less until the end, I didn’t really know what was going on. Some of these I watched like everyone else, and “Oh, well.” He explained, ‘Now at the moment, I’m very happy Dragon House. It is a very loyal adaptation. Yes, there are some changes, but I have a great relationship with Ryan Kondal and Miguel Saposhnik.”

You can read HBO’s official summary of Dragon House Here: “The prequel series finds that the Targaryen dynasty is at the height of its absolute power, with over 15 dragons under their yoke. Most empires – real and imagined – collapse from these heights. In the case of the Targaryens, their slow downfall begins nearly 193 years before the events of Game of thrones, when King Viserys Targaryen interrupted a century of tradition by naming his daughter Rhaenyra heir to the Iron Throne. But when Viserys later became a son, the court was shocked when Reinera retained her position as his successor, and the seeds of division sowed friction throughout the world.”

Dragon HouseEpisode two will be available to watch on HBO tonight.
