Konosuba: Blast this wonderful world! It’s currently slated to release sometime in 2023, and after the first teaser released for the new anime earlier this year, we’ve now got our first full trailer featuring the animated spin-off. Revealing the scene in which young Megumin is likely to be inspired to follow her explosive new magical path when it appears that another magical user has unleashed one of their own, it’s unnerving for more to come. Check out the premiere of Konosuba’s new Megumin spin-off below:

Based on the original light novel series by Natsume Akatsuki and Masahito Watari, Konosuba: An Explosion on This Wonderful World’s anime currently has no definite release date outside next year. Yujiro Abe will serve as Studio Drive Director with Konosuba Principal Franchise Manager, Takaomi Kanasaki, who is supervising it. Makoto Uezu returns from the main series as the series’ music composer, Koichi Kikuta returns as the character designer, and Rie Takahashi and Aki Toyosaki are confirmed as the voices of Megumin and Yunyun respectively. The original three-volume series was licensed for an English-language version by Yen Press (if you want to check it out), and they describe Konosuba: An explosion in this wonderful world as such:

One year before a certain useless goddess and NEET Extraordinary appear on the scene, Megumin, “the greatest genius of the Crimson Magic Clan.” Since a life-changing encounter in her youth, the young wizard has devoted her every waking moment to the pursuit of the ultimate offensive magic, Blast! (Well…every moment she hasn’t had food from her so-called rival.) While the older sister is away, the little one will play. On a routine trip in the woods, Megumin’s little sister, Kumiko, finds a strange black cat. Little do you know that cat plays a role major in revealing the Dark God’s Tomb…”
