A widow’s daughter who was handcuffed and flogged by members of her community in Omogo, Abia state, broke her silence.

A disturbing video of the widow identified as Amarachi Okeshi being insulted after her late husband’s brother-in-law accused her of being a witch went viral on the internet a few days ago.

Young men in Omoigo, Amaigbato community, Nkba Bindi LGA, Abia State publicly tied her up for two days, after which the older men of the community took turns flogging her with five strokes all over her body. I read here.

The video sparked outrage, and the wife of the governor of Abia state announced that she had been rescued and taken to hospital.

Responding to the incident posted on Facebook, the widow’s daughter, identified as Flourish Victor, said she had to leave Lagos for Umuahia when she heard what had happened to her mother.

Florich said she was heartbroken when she arrived at Abia and could not recognize her mother when she saw her after the assault.

“My uncle’s wife accused her of being a witch and she is not a witch and they decided to kill my mum for me, my friends I have been crying since tuesday till now, I came all the way from Lagos down to Omoaha and I couldn’t not recognize my mum, Chai Obi Agpawalam, I am in pain Severe, but there is no God Dai.

“My heart aches… I feel offended… I feel like I’m not alive again. I wrote: I want revenge… I really want revenge.”
