Rian Johnson details Mark Hamill’s initial hesitation with Luke Skywalker’s latest Jedi

Lucasfilm has been in progress with steam service offerings such as The MandalorianAnd the boba fett bookAnd the Obi-Wan Kenobi. The last few films in the studios were either too fragmented or didn’t make enough at the box office, but there was one that was critically acclaimed and made a bank. Star Wars: The Last Jedi It was the third film released by the studio after it was purchased by Disney, and while critics loved the film, there are definitely two sides. A faction of Star Wars fans who didn’t really like it last serious He has been criticizing her online for years. Director Rian Johnson recently revealed he’s more proud of the movie than ever, and now he’s discussing Mark Hamill’s reluctance with movie character Luke Skywalker. During a new interview with Empire Magazine (via CBR), Johnson spoke candidly about working with Hamill.

“I choose my words carefully, not to be diplomatic, but I don’t want to frame Mark’s experience on this through my lens because there is no possible way I can put myself in Mark or Carrie’s shoes. [Fisher]Johnson told the magazine, having lived their entire lives known as these characters. “And what it’s like to first play them in their twenties, and then go back and play them in these movies and have a text that says, ‘Okay, it’s this now’…I can never understand what that experience is. That’s impossible.”

“If Mark Hamill were talking to me about Luke Skywalker, I would listen to him, I would think about it and argue with him and go back and forth. If that sounds right. However, remember that he obviously created the character on screen, but he’s Mark Hamill, he’s not Luke Skywalker Literally. Luke Skywalker lives as creativity on that screen. He’s a legend. And as such, he really only lives in the minds of people who listen to this legend and in different ways that believe in it. And I know it was me. So, it’s complicated.” Johnson added.

The next Star Wars series that will hit Disney+ will be Andor. Diego Luna returns as one of the most exciting characters in the Star Wars universe, Cassian Andor. Back in May, Brandon Davis from ComicBook.com got a chance to talk to him Andor Man drives through Star Wars celebration, reveals after watching Andor You won’t believe it Rogue One: A Star Wars Story It was possible.

“The only thing I can say is that you will see where he was five years ago rogue oneAnd you won’t believe rogue one Luna told us it was possible. This is the idea, to see a transformation and an awakening. I can’t tell you how that will be represented, you have to wait until August 31st. But it’s about that, and it’s about how much we all can change and transform, and that’s the beauty of storytelling. You don’t start to know the ending very much, here you know what’s going on. It’s not about, like, “Oh that happened!” No, no, how it happened is important. It’s all about the little details and between the lines and every layer of character. Even though we are on a very epic show and a huge spy adventure show, we will have time for intimacy. You will delve deeper into the character and the people around him. I think it’s going to be fun, and it’s going to be dark and interesting and different from what you see now.”
