The fifth season of Cobra Kai Coming to Netflix next week, and ComicBook.comChris Killian had the opportunity to chat with the show’s crew, including Ralph Macchio (Daniel Larso) and William Zabka (Johnny Lawrence). Of course, both actors starred in the original the Karate Kid The movie goes back to 1984, and neither of the actors seem ready to say goodbye to their characters. In fact, Zabka joked that he is ready to make a trilogy of films as soon as the show ends.
“Yeah, there’s no end game at all, we’re going to keep that thing for ten more seasons,” Zabka said with a laugh. “There is an end game,” he explained. “Everything points to a place on the map for sure. It’s a question of how many people we’re going to do, but there’s definitely an end game.” He joked, “We’ll finish the series and then I think we’ll do a trilogy of movies.”
Although they don’t seem to have a clear idea of what the future holds, Macchio has already said that they can continue “the Karate Kid Karate world.”
“The thing that is created, there is a kind of cinematic universe of a karate kid now where Cobra KaI’m, you know, in the center of that, and when that day comes to land, there are other areas to take advantage of, “Macchio joked.” I mean, whether… Is there a Miyagi origin story? Is there Cobra Kai prequel by the Karate Kid? Are there repercussions with some of the younger actors of these characters? Who do you know? But we’re not done as long as we have the opportunity to really present it. And as long as it evolves organically, these guys who write the show really have their finger on the pulse of it. ”
ComicBook.com He also spoke to the show’s younger stars, who are open to being a new legacy for 30 years on the line.
“Yes, of course,” said Una O’Brien. “Oh yeah,” Griffin Santopetro added. “Same thing,” Dallas Dupree Young said. “I feel as though Cobra Kai It really shaped our careers in a very different light, and I think, you know, to have the opportunity to go back 20-30 years, I think it would be incredible to be a part of that.” And I think we’ve all made lifelong friends in this group too,” O’Brien shared.
“It would be crazy to see everyone,” Xolo Maridueña said when asked the same question. “Yes, I have fallen, I am,” answered Marie Voser. “We kept working after 30 years, over and over again,” added Gianni DeSenzo. Peyton List agreed, saying “yes.”
Cobra Kai Season 5 is set to premiere on Netflix on September 9.
