Italian Stefano Sollima hits “Adagio” with A-List

Italian director Stefano Sollima, best known in Hollywood for “Sicario: Day of the Soldado,” “Without Remorse” and the TV show Gomorrah, is back behind the camera on a contemporary Rome criminal called Adagio.

Filming began on September 5 on “Adagio” which features a cast of Italian listening actors such as Pierfrancesco Favino (“Nostalgia”), Toni Servillo (“The Great Beauty”), Valerio Mastandrea (“Perfect Strangers”), and Adriano Giannini (“Links”). ).

“I am excited and full of enthusiasm to finally get back to photographing my city after all these years. Solima said in a statement to diverse. He went on to describe “Adagio” as a dark tale of revenge and redemption, which would be the final chapter of the Roman Criminals trilogy. ”

The previous two installments in this trilogy are “ACAB: All Cops Are Bastards” from 2012, and “Suburra” from 2015, which was later made into a TV series on Netflix.

The story idea for “Adagio” and the screenplay was co-written by Italian writer Stefano Bessis (“Gomorrah” and “ZeroZeroZero” with Sollima.

“Adagio” is being produced by Lorenzo Mieli via his company The Apartment, part of Fremantle, by Stefano Sollima through the AlterEgo board, and also by Vision Distribution, which will also release the film in Italy and sell it internationally.
