Bose QuietComfort Earbuds II could be a great alternative to Apple’s AirPods Pro headphones

If you’re talking about noise-canceling headphones, you really can’t leave the Bose out of the picture. The founder of the company, Dr. Ammar Boss, brought the technology to consumer products. While the company’s spotlight has faded in recent years, they still manage to offer interesting products now and then. The company today announced its latest wireless noise-canceling earbuds, the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds II.

Bose QuietComfort Earbuds II introduces a new design that is not only smaller in size but also lighter than its predecessor. However, that’s not the only change, as the new earbuds will offer Bose CustomTune audio calibration technology. Once you remove the earbuds from the case, they will start playing a tune. The tone paired with the earphone microphone will measure the ear canal, creating the best possible noise canceling experience. Furthermore, the technology can target specific frequencies, allowing noise cancellation to adapt to a person’s surroundings. It can achieve this with four microphones dedicated to each earpiece, which are used to sense changes in sound frequency in an instant.

Additionally, when it comes to music, CustomTune can enhance the sounds coming from the earbuds, allowing the music to be heard the way the artist intended. It can also make users more aware of their surroundings through “Aware Mode with ActiveSense”. The new mode will provide improved transparency settings, allowing sounds to pass to the user in the most natural way possible. Of course, none of this matters if convenience is not there. So, Bose has designed a new “eartip Fit Kit,” with interchangeable eartips and stability straps so that the user can maximize comfort. Bose says there are up to nine different configurations possible. When it comes to protection from the elements, the QuietComfort II earbuds have an IPX4 rating for sweat and water resistance.

The earbuds will also have touch controls which will enable actions like play, pause, skip, and more. Bose plans to add more functionality at a later time. The earbuds come with a stylish charging case that can be refilled via USB-C, as the earbuds provide up to six hours of battery life and three additional charges with the case. Best of all, the earbuds are compatible with both iOS and Android devices. This might be a great alternative to the recently announced Apple AirPods Pro. Bose QuietComfort Earbuds II will be available on September 15th for $299.
