ZED unveils three ambitious landmark projects and four environmental offerings

Founded over 25 years ago by Manuel Cato, the independent French producer and distributor ZED has over the years become a major player in the documentary field. At the Unifrance Rendez-vous TV market in Biarritz, ZED revealed to diverse Acquisition of three ambitious historical documentary projects, available for pre-sale.

“Ukraine 1933: Seeds of Hunger”, a documentary by Clouds Rebot, produced by Les Films Du Poisson for France Télévisions, recalls the tragedy that Ukrainians suffered between 1931 and 1933: the Great Famine orchestrated by Stalin to punish those who refused the mass transformation of the countryside and communist ideology killing more than 4 million of them.

Produced by Les Films d’Ici for ARTE, the two-part series directed by Thomas Sepp “will provide a fresh look at one of the most devastating confrontations In Military History” by exploring the two sides of the conflict using official and personal archives, and through moving sequences.

“Generation Earth” by Thierry Peraud, produced by Mona Lisa Production and Wide Studios for Ushuaïa TV, is scheduled for release in the fall of 2023. It focuses on how the younger generation is trying to raise awareness about the consequences of climate change around the world.

Our Forest, produced by LATO SENSU Productions and Wide Studios for ARTE, is scheduled for release in early 2023. At the show, five indigenous leaders called for the protection of their forests.
