UK viewers took to Twitter to take to Comcast-owned Sky Network as it apparently made two Queen Elizabeth II-related jokes on the local broadcast of “Last Week Tonight With John Oliver”.
On the HBO broadcast, which aired Sunday night in the US, Oliver opened with a joke about the Chilean president before saying: “But obviously we need to start with the UK, which is clearly still suffering the horrific death of a 96-year-old woman. of age for natural causes,” laughter followed.

In the version available on Sky NOW’s streaming platform, Oliver’s joke about the Chilean president follows the blink of a blink and you’ll miss “Last Week Tonight with John Oliver” and then immediately jumps to Oliver’s joke about Truss. The same remastered version appears to have aired on Sky Comedy on Monday night.
Sky attracted dozens of comments from angry fans on Twitter, with many tagging Oliver directly. One Twitter user said: “Heaven cut a joke about the Queen last night.” “Cowards. Could you put it here? They annoyed us with her image and really amateurish story.”
