Nicolas Cage received amazing news coming his way this week, and it wasn’t just a positive reception for his movie, butcher crossing, at the Toronto International Film Festival. Cage and his wife, Rico Cipata, celebrated the birth of their daughter Francesca last Wednesday. And it seems that the birth of his daughter has already affected the way Cage will choose his projects in the future – and it is clear that he is heading in a different direction.
Nicolas Cage said he might shift his focus significantly to making the films his daughter will be able to see. while talking with Entertainment Weekly in tif, The The Oscar winner said:
I want to make some movies that bring a smile to her face and some laughter, for sure. Maybe some animation. Show her some Croods 1, Croods 2, maybe some others.
Nicolas Cage has definitely diversified the types of roles he’s taken during his career, but most of his films aren’t exactly family friendly. Earlier this year, he starred in the R-rated comedy, The unbearable weight of talentCage portrayed a fictional version of himself. But now, the star seems to be interested in lighter fare, especially after last year Pig, which featured an amazing performance on his part in what was a very dark emotional story. Perhaps his desire for more work directed towards a wider audience will prompt him to officially register National Treasure 3. It might be a long shot, but my fingers are crossed.
The birth of his daughter came right before his TIFF appearance this weekend, where he was promoting Butcher Crossing. The film is about a college drop out, who joins with buffalo hunters in the wild to regain peace of mind. It wasn’t certain if the 58-year-old star would be able to attend the festival given the birth of his daughter was imminent, but he was fortunately able to make the trip with his co-star, Rachel Keeler.

This would be a great movie to share with his daughter when she is old enough. sequel Spider-Man: via spider verse, It’s slated to release in the summer of next year, so hopefully, Cage’s voiceover talent will be put to use soon.
