CAA Media Finance Picks Up Sales Rights for “Who Called Charlie?”

CAA Media Finance acquires rights to sales in North America for “Who Invited Charlie?”

The film will be shown on the world market for the first time at TIFF via CAA and Lon Haber & Co.

“Who called Charlie?” Stars Jordana Brewster (“Fast & Furious 7”) as Rosie, Adam Paley (“Happy Endings”) as Charlie, Red Scott (“Veep”) as Phil and Dylan Penn (“Flag Day”) as Jess.

In the film, Scott plays hedge fund manager Phil Schreiber, who flees to the Hamptons alongside his wife Rosie and the couple’s son as the COVID-19 pandemic spreads. Things take a strange turn when Schreiber’s dorm roommate, Charlie (Balley), arrives completely without altruistic intentions. Although Charlie is popular with Schreiber’s wife and son, he also holds some of the duo’s darkest college secrets.

“As Charlie makes himself at home, secrets are revealed that threaten to do more harm than the virus they are all hiding from,” the logical mantra reads.

Casting actors Xosha Roquemore (“The Mindy Project”) and Peter Dagher.

The script was written by Nicholas Schutt (“Otter Banks”).

“Who called Charlie?” He will next play the New York Film Festival and the Hamptons International Film Festival.

Jason Dubin (“The Nannies”), Perry Street Films and Nicholas Schott are producing. David Frankel (“Devil Wears Prada”) is CEO. Along with Jordana Brewster and Adam Paley. Manrique and Scott produce.
