DJI announces Osmo Action 3, starting at $329.99

DJI finally announced a fitting follow-up to the original action cam that made waves when it debuted in 2019. The Osmo Action 3 action cam takes what was great on the first model, adds new features, and most importantly, is competitively priced.

The DJI Osmo Action 3 now features an improved imaging system that uses a 1/1.7-inch sensor that can shoot 4K at 60 and 120 frames per second. It also has an improved thermal management system, allowing it to record at 4K 60fps without overheating or shutting down. This is a huge detail, as other competitors like GoPro tend to struggle with overheating issues. It can also handle extreme depths, with the ability to submerge up to 16 meters without additional cover. Of course, the camera will use DJI’s RockSteady technology, allowing users to capture smooth, steady shots on the go. The new camera will also come with several stabilization options such as HorizonSteady, which eliminates camera shake from all angles, and also keeps the horizon level regardless of the camera’s orientation. If you’re not looking for the ultimate in stability and image correction, DJI also offers a good happy medium with its HorizonBalancing technology that can correct horizon tilt in shots up to 45 degrees.

The DJI Osmo Action 3 offers a design similar to the original but offers some much-needed improvements such as the use of a large 1,770mAh battery. This new battery, called the Extreme Battery, allows the camera to capture up to 160 minutes of video. The battery can also handle inclement weather, as its operating temperature can reach -20°C or -4°F. The battery can also be charged quickly thanks to fast charging support, going from zero to 80 percent in 18 minutes, and a full charge takes less than an hour.

Besides the improved battery life, the DJI Osmo Action 3 offers an improved stabilization system, which was borrowed from DJI’s other action cam, the Action 2. The Osmo Action 3 will have a stabilization system that allows it to be mounted both horizontally and vertically. , using a magnetic system for quick connection. As far as price goes, the base model Osmo Action 3 will retail for $329. DJI will also offer an accessory bundle that will retail for $439. You can now buy it from participating retailers and DJI Direct.

The Osmo Action 3 is DJI’s latest action camera, offering an impressive range of specs for a great price.
