The Kickstarter for Sand Dunes: War for Arrakis It was launched on Kickstarter. New board game designed by War of the Ring Designers Marco Maggi and Francesco Nepitello, is a game for 2-4 players that pits the forces of House Harkonnen against Paul Atreides and Fremen’s army of guerrilla fighters. As players maneuver their forces across the planet-wide Arrakis desert, characters from Dune The novels will appear as leaders, and provide combat bonuses when used. Players will also have to deal with the ever-present threat of sandworms, with Fremen being able to summon a sandworm and use it to eliminate Harkonnen’s forces.

Kickstarter backers will receive a copy of the game with a pledge of $110, although shipping costs will apply separately. As of press time, Kickstarter has raised over $200,000, which is more than double its initial goal of $100,000.
