ABC signs to remake of Newen ‘HPI’ Hit Detective series

ABC Signature, part of Disney Television Studios, has acquired the rights to the English language adaptation of TF1’s hit detective show “HIP (High Intellectual Potential)”.

The American adaptation is currently in development, and the model, writing team, and cast will be announced at a later stage.

The original series, written by Alice Chigaray Briogno, Stéphane Carré and Nicolas Jean, and starring Audrey Fleurot (“Intouchables”) and Mehdi Nebo (“Serial Weddings (Bad)”), was one of the most successful French shows on French television in the past ten years. Produced by Mediawan-owned Sepembre Productions, and Itinéraire Productions, a subsidiary of UGC, the series has been sold to over 105 territories and has garnered over 175 million views globally to date. A Czech and Slovak version of Nova and Markiza has already been filmed and is expected to be launched soon.

“Christian” and “L’Opera” are featured in Rudolph Buet, managing director of Newen Connect.
