Timothée Chalamet reveals Leonardo DiCaprio’s career advice

Timothée Chalamet has worn the Hollywood “it boy” crown since his role in Luca Guadagnino’s “Call Me by Your Name.” Since then, he has starred in independent favorites such as “Lady Bird” and “Beautiful Boy”, as well as the blockbuster fantasy movie “Dune”. Next up: Guadagnino’s beloved film festival “Bones and All,” a cannibal love story that garnered a standing ovation for 8.5 minutes in Venice.

Following in the footsteps of hot Hollywood movies before him, Chalamet revealed British Vogue Professional advice given to him by Leonardo DiCaprio: “No hard drugs, no superhero movies.”

DiCaprio and Chalamet shared the screen in Adam McKay’s 2021 satirical comedy Don’t Look Up, which premiered in limited theaters and on Netflix last December, and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Picture.

DiCaprio, who hasn’t appeared in a TV series since “Growing Pains” in 1992, is known for being picky about his choice of roles. His breakthrough in “Titanic” in 1997 propelled him to worldwide stardom, and the closest thing he did to a superhero movie was “The Revenant” by Alejandro J. DiCaprio won his first and only Academy Award for this performance.

Chalamet’s career path has earned him a similar spot as a respected actor adored by both critics and fans alike.

In 2023, the actor will star as Young Willy Wonka in Paul King’s Dark Origin story “Wonka”, as well as Denis Villeneuve’s “Dune: Part Two” opposite Zendaya, Florence Pugh and Austin Butler.
