Music star Drake feuds with YouTube music critic Anthony Fantano, “the busiest music geek on the internet.”
On Thursday night, Drake leaked his private direct messages to Fantano on his Instagram story, which read: “Your presence is light 1. And 1 is the reason you are alive,” referring to Fantano’s tradition of reviewing albums on a scale from one to 10.
Drake continued, “And because you somehow married a black girl. I feel light on 1 decent for your presence.”
While Fantano scored Drake’s latest album “Honestly, Nevermind” officially “Not Good” out of 10 in June, it appears that the artist’s DMs were unexplained, as there are no previous messages between the two.
In an unorthodox move, Fantano may have gotten Drake to leak his DMs by releasing a video On his second YouTube channel “Drake Slid Into My DMs,” the music reviewer provides elaborately fabricated DMs that show Drake sending him a recipe for vegan cookies. Apparently Fantano was luring the rapper to expose himself.
On Instagram Live after Drake posted the screenshot, Fantano said, “Basically what happened is that for reasons unknown to me, Drake was feeling his feelings for him, as usual.”
Fantano said he got a DM from Drake, which he described as “a little bit of a freak…a little bit of a salty DM. It was so sad and so unfortunate.”
Then, referring to rumors about Drake’s friendship with teen “Stranger Things” star Millie Bobby Brown, Fantano added, “Why is Drake texting me? I’m not 18. That’s kind of weird… This guy is familiar enough with me to know the rating system. My own, which is kind of weird. He seems a little obsessive.”
And Fantano continued, “That’s why he has ghost writers. Because that’s the adjective for insult when you get when that guy works alone. If I wanted a good insult in my inbox, he’d have to pay someone else to come and do it.”
The music critic then spoke about his decision not to respond to Drake’s message and declared, “Fantano is getting a W today.”
“I’m going to let Drake read just like all the other thirsty bitches in my DMs. Another grumpy bitch in my DMs. I don’t need another one… I let Drake read just like many women from the past. I’m only the one in a long line [who] Leave this guy on reading.”
Later in the broadcast, Fantano talked about the joke he was playing on Drake, saying, “Come on dude, I leaked your DMs on the internet. It’s sad. This is pathetic. I don’t even have a million followers. How do you let me move under your skin? thus? “
Concluding his speech, Fantano added, “No hard feelings against Drake. I think Drake is mostly an artist who has made some great tracks. He’s got some great records…He’s got a lot of great hits…He’s got a lot of tracks and numbers.” The standard I don’t care about that I don’t like. It’s a range.”
