Sony announces new movie “The Karate Kid” for 2024 that pushes “Madame Webb”

Sony Pictures announced the ‘return of the original ‘Karate Kid’ franchise to the big screen by dating the new ‘Karate Kid’ movie on June 7, 2024. While the franchise continued thanks to the ‘Cobra Kai’ series on Netflix, which just started its fifth season on the streaming platform. This new “Karate Kid” project will be the franchise’s first cinematic run since the 2010 reboot starring Jaden Smith.

The 2024 movie “Karate Kid” does not yet have a synopsis from the studio or the cast and crew accompanying it. Other new titles added to Sony’s release calendar include the untitled horror movie from Screen Gems released on January 6, 2023 and “Lost,” which is the next installment in the Search franchise. Storm Reed and Nia Long star in Missing, which begins on February 24, 2023.

Sony has also changed the release dates for several upcoming support columns. Madame Web, an animated film set in the Spider-Man universe, starring Dakota Johnson and Sidney Sweeney, will move from October 6, 2023 to February 16, 2024. Johnson, starring in “Kraven the Hunter,” moves to October 6, 2023 from 13 January 2023. Both films will be released in IMAX. The untitled Sony/Marvel Universe movie was dated July 12, 2024.

Elsewhere, “Garfield” with the voice of Chris Pratt will be shown in theaters over Memorial Day weekend on May 24, 2024 (transferred from February 16, 2024). “65” starring Adam Driver, thriller “65” from screenwriters Scott Beck and Brian Woods, will open on March 10, 2023 (starting April 28, 2023).
