Episode 1033 of One Piece proves that Toei’s animation is on another level

piece So blasted by the animation seen in episode 1033 of the series that it’s become positive proof that Toei Animation is on a whole new level than ever before! Although One Piece itself has been in the works for over two decades at this point, it really does seem like the anime has evolved along with the series over the years. The start of Wano Country arc kicked off a new high-energy level for the series with dramatic changes in presentation, and fans have seen this reach a higher level in certain key episodes of the series.

The latest episode of the anime ends with the second stage of the fight on the roof of the dome of the skull, as Luffy is the only one left to face Kaido. It’s a pretty big moment for the series, as the winner is announced, and the team behind Episode 1033 has gone all out with the animation to showcase just how big this stage really is for the arc. This included moments like Luffy’s battle with Kaido on the roof as spotted by @OpPerfectShots_ on Twitter:

It also includes Big Mom’s iconic moment using Maser Cannon as spotted by @RoronoaTiaum on Twitter below:

But these were only a few moments in a stellar episode overall, and they mark a major turning point for the rest of the series as the Wano County arc reaches its climax. Luffy’s loss to Kaido is really just the beginning of the battle we’ve seen going on in the manga, and in fact, the manga didn’t end the Wano arc for good until a few weeks ago. And even then, there is still so much to explore that the anime has a long and varied path where we will likely get more of these special moments.

With the animation reaching this tipping point in the fight between Luffy and Kaido, and a turning point for many other battles around Onigashima, it’s clear that the team behind the series in Toei Animation is only getting started for what’s coming our way next.
