‘Abbott Elementary’: Emmy-winning comedy is back for season 2!

Los Angeles — The cast and crew of Abbott Elementary are on the move. They collect pencils, crayons, paper, and notebooks and go from Tuesday nights to Wednesday nights on ABC.

“We are so happy to be back on it, getting back together and just getting back to doing this show that we really love,” said series creator Quinta Brunson.

With the school back in session, there is no place these “teachers” would prefer.

Lisa Ann Walter said, “This thing we do, I look forward to doing. And not just because they make me breakfast, but that’s a big cause.” “But she’s doing the actual work on a site with people I adore, surrounded by such an amazing group of talent and writers too and all of our crew. That’s what I can’t wait to do. I feel like going to work. I feel like you’re going to have fun.”

Bronson, who just won an Emmy for her comedy writing, says she never intended to become a spokeswoman for the teaching profession. I just learned that this field is rich with relevant stories.

“I knew there was humor in it, heart in it, love in it, but truth in it,” Bronson said. “And I’m so happy that even though we didn’t plan to represent the teachers we are doing a good and caring job so that the teachers feel represented, if that makes sense. I’m glad we’re doing our job well enough to appreciate what we do.”

“It was great to hear the teachers talk about how it felt to be seeing them, how much they felt respected, and how good they felt,” said Sheryl Lee Ralph.

Ralph also won an Emmy for her role in “Abbott Elementary.” She is passionate about providing the best education possible for our children.

We can do better, and we will do better,” Ralph said. “And I’m glad that Abbott Elementary is there to show people that, yes, there is a way forward together.”

Ralph is looking forward to something she’d especially like to see on the show this season.

“Oh holy night!” Ralph sang. “We should have a Christmas party!”

Abbott Elementary airs Wednesday nights at 9p/8c on ABC.
