‘The Watcher’ Trailer: Naomi Watts stars in Ryan Murphy Netflix show

Naomi Watts and Bobby Cannavale have some curious neighbors on Ryan Murphy’s upcoming true crime series, “The Watcher,” as revealed by Netflix in the official trailer.

Based on true events, the seven-episode series follows Dean (Cannaval) and Nora Brannock (Watts) as they move into their dream home in the idyllic suburb of Westfield, New Jersey, but inevitably discover that their new neighborhood isn’t very welcoming for them. When the couple begins receiving ominous messages from a person called “The Watcher”, the secrets of the neighborhood and its ominous inhabitants are revealed.

Besides Cannavale and Watts, the cast includes Mia Farrow, Terry Kinney, Richard Kind, Margo Martindale, Numa Demizuni, Joe Mantillo, and Jennifer Coolidge as Karen Calhoun, the real estate agent who sells the unsuspecting couple their New Jersey home.

Earlier in September, Netflix released a file Trailer teaser College in a promotion displays a false home for a Westfield property.

“You can actually look and see everything that’s going on in the city. But you want to keep the blinds closed,” Coolidge says in the teaser while looking out the window. “You know, there are a lot of strange neighbors and things out there that, you know, you don’t want them to be watching you. Sure.”

The series was created and executive produced by Murphy and Ian Brennan, with Alexis Martin Woodall, Eric Kovton, Brian Ankelis, Eric Newman, Paris Barclay, Naomi Watts, Ariel Shulman, Henry Jost, and Scope Wasserstein as executive producers.
