Beach House Pictures, Raghav Khanna launches Riverland unit in India

Singapore-based group Beach House Pictures has teamed up with CEO Raghav Khanna to launch a new unit Riverland Entertainment in Mumbai, India.

The newly formed production company will develop a slate of unregistered series and documentaries from India. It will do this by partnering with local Indian talent to create content tailored to a global and Indian audience, while also leveraging and accessing Beach House Pictures’ international expertise, and access to Beach House’s post-production facility, Space Lion Studios.

Khanna, the former head of Netflix documentary production in the Asia Pacific region, has been appointed as CEO of the new operation. He will work closely with Beach House Pictures founders Donovan Chan and Jocelyn Little.

Riverland Entertainment will also provide line production services for upcoming international productions and help them access local talent, crews, permits and tax incentives. In recent years, India has launched a simplified “single window licensing” process for permit applications, and this year it finally unveiled a package of site production incentives.

Khanna is also the writer and creative director of the popular food series ‘Raja Rasoy Aur Anya Kahanian’ (available on Netflix). He was an executive producer with Fox and National Geographic for major series including “Masters of Taste with Gary Mehigan” and “Mega Icons”.

“We believe that India will continue to grow more significantly as it becomes a vital market for international and regional broadcasters,” said Chan, Creative Director of Beach Pictures House.

“We have worked with Raghav for many years and have grown to admire his excellent leadership, expertise and experience,” said Little, managing director of Beach House Pictures.

“It is an unprecedented time to be creative because authentically local stories transcend regional and linguistic boundaries. We want to partner with the Indian creative community, leveraging Beach House Pictures’ qualitative expertise, to tell stories that fit in with their environment for audiences,” Khanna said. Indian and International.

He is also the writer and creative director of the popular food series Raja Rasoi aur Anya Kahaniyaan (available on Netflix). He has been an executive producer with Fox and National Geographic for their flagship series such as Masters of Taste with Gary Mehigan and Mega Icons.

Rooted in documentary and factual programming and supported by privately owned Canadian media group Blue Ant Media, Beach House has diversified into a multicultural and multi-genre player, creating and owning an original IP via script, factual, improvised and branded programming. It has also been established in Beijing for 15 years and is one of the leading foreign co-producers in China.

Over the past three years, Beach House Pictures has acquired Tokyo-based Vesuvius Pictures and Singapore-based script producer from Southeast Asia Momo Film Co.. The company recently launched Space Lion Studios, a modern Dolby-certified post-production facility in Singapore.
