Just like the hype around the movie, the mystery thriller has plenty of twists and turns, enough to confuse all audiences. A major story shift occurred, especially after about two-thirds of the way through the film. During this scene, we see Harry Styles looking a lot different than we’re used to seeing the One Direction guy. It seems almost unrecognizable, and the transformation seems to have led to an interesting predicament for the hairstylist in the movie.
In a recent interview with diverseHead of Hair Jaime Leigh McIntosh revealed how they changed the Styles’ look for a stunning sophistication. Surprisingly, it was more difficult than intended. She said:
I wanted to make it weak and more lifeless. I couldn’t fucking. Harry’s hair is full of volume.
However, just because McIntosh had a challenge, it doesn’t mean there wasn’t a solution to dealing with Styles’ famous thick head of hair. Fortunately, McIntosh was able to come up with an innovative solution.
When it’s long and coarse, those were two pieces sewn together. When he has a short back and sides I used the top of the wig and cut it to blend in with Harry’s sides and back.

He has greasy hair, and a more messy look, hence the many tweaks that McIntosh had to make to Styles’ hair for the movie.
This insight shows the hard work that went into behind the scenes to make sure it was as impactful as possible. While the movie itself is currently receiving mixed reviews, Wilde stated that she is proud of the movie she made, so it’s clear that the hard work has paid off.
Harry Styles’ role in the movie was very conversational. Originally, the role of Jack was cast as Shia LaBeouf, who left the film for a number of reasons discussed. Styles was then cast to take on the role, which surprised many due to his lack of acting experience. The role in question was incredibly complex, and the duality of his character would be difficult to implement.
