Edward Burns Bridge and Tunnel Canceled by Epix

Epix canceled Edward Burns’ drama “Bridge and Tunnel” after two seasons, diverse I learned exclusively.

The half-hour show is set in the early 1980s about a group of recent college graduates who pursue their dreams in Manhattan while still clinging to the familiarity of their hometown on Long Island.

Written, directed, and produced by “Saving Private Ryan” and starring “Public Morals,” it stars “Bridge and Tunnel” alongside Sam Vartholomos (Star Trek: Discovery), Kaitlin Stacey (Reign), “Please Like Me”), and Gigi Zumbado (” 9-1-1″, “Criminal Minds” and “Scream”), JanLuis Castellanos (“13 Reasons Why” and “Marvel’s Runways”), Brian Mueller (“The Deuce”, “Madame Secretary,” “The Good Wife”), and Isabella Farrell (“The Good Fight”).

The first season of “Bridget and Tunnel” premiered on January 24, 2021 on Pay TV and consisted of six episodes. In July 2021, the show was renewed for a second season. This six-episode version was released from July 10 to August. 14.

The program currently holds an overall critic rating of 29% on Rotten Tomatoes and 74% of the audience. “Bridge and Tunnel” has a 52% rating on Metacritic.

Aside from Burns, additional executive producers include Aaron Lubin (“Something Borrowed”, “Public Morals”) and Laurie Keith Douglas (“The Village”, “Friends From College”).

“Bridge and Tunnel” comes from Epix Studios and is distributed internationally by MGM.

Among the remaining lineup of original series at Epix, a subsidiary of MGM, which was recently acquired by Amazon in a $8.5 billion deal, are “Godfather of Harlem,” “War of the Worlds,” “NFL Icons,” and “My Life.” Such as Rolling Stone”, “Belgravia”, “Billy the Kid”, “From” and “Rogue Heroes”.
