Samsung launched One UI 5 beta software for Galaxy S20 series

Over the past few weeks, Samsung has opened One UI 5 beta programs for the Galaxy S22 series, Galaxy S21 series, and Galaxy A52, giving users a chance to try out the Android 13 build before its stable rollout. Now, the company has opened the beta program for the Galaxy S20 series in its home market.

According to a recent post on the Samsung community forums, the One UI 5 beta software for the Galaxy S20 series is in South Korea. Users in the area can register for the program through the Samsung Members app by clicking on the beta banner within the app. After successful registration, users should receive their first beta build of One UI 5 via OTA update.

Screenshots of the first One UI 5 beta change shared in a separate post show that the update (ZVIB firmware version) also packs the October 2022 Android security patches. Additionally, the changelog states that the beta update is not available for BTS Edition Galaxy devices S20 series.

As you’d expect, One UI 5 beta for the Galaxy S20 series brings all the new features that Google introduced with Android 13. It also packs most of the changes Samsung introduced in the One UI 5 beta for the Galaxy S22 series, including new color options for dynamic themes, and support for widgets User stackable, new split screen display gestures, My Files app improvements, Camera app improvements, and more. Although Samsung has not released any details about the wider rollout of the One UI 5 beta for the Galaxy S20 series, it should arrive in other regions in the next few days. Keep an eye on the Samsung Members app if you want to try One UI 5 before the stable release.
