Robert Eggers’ long-awaited “Nosferatu” is just beginning to take shape, with Bill Skarsgard in talks to play the title character with Lily-Rose Depp as the star.
Eggers is set to write, direct, and produce the new fantasy, which follows the gothic tale of the obsession between a haunted young woman (Depp) in 19th century Germany and an ancient Transylvanian vampire (Skarsgaard) who haunts her, bringing with it untold terror.
Focus Features was produced by Jeff Robinov, John Graham, Eggers, Chris Columbus, and Eleanor Columbus.
Deadline was the first to report on the actors’ participation in the film. Focus Features had no comment on the reports.
