Prime Video, VIS, Zeta reveal the second season of ‘Dias Mejores’

Prime Video has green-lit the second season of the popular Spanish series “Dias Mejores” (“Better Days”), after the success of its first season. Designed by Cristobal Garrido and Adolfo Valor (“Reyes de la Noche”, “Farina”), the new season will continue the stories of its main characters Sarah (Marta Hazas), Bardo (Eric Elias), Gracie (Alba Planas), Luis (Francesc Orella) and Dr. Laforet (Blanca Portillo).

The news was announced at the Iberseries & Platino Industria TV event that took place in Madrid from 27-30 September.

The co-production between ViacomCBS International Studios (VIS) and Madrid-based Zeta Studios, producers of Netflix, “Elite”, will be broadcast exclusively on Prime Video in Spain.

The first season was shown at the Malaga Festival in March. The new season has just begun filming and includes an additional strong crew led by Marta Aledo (“Vis a vis”, “Elite”) as Emi, Sarah’s sister; Carol Rovera (“#Luimelia”) as Claudia, the teacher of the Bardot’s children, and Sonia Elmarcha (“The Good Boss”) as Maite, the mother of Graci’s late friend.

In “Mejores Dias,” creators and producers Valor and Garrido explore the challenges of coping with the loss of a loved one and being a single parent, among other things. While each character deals with different personal problems, they all see the same therapist, Dr. Lafort.

Season 2 sees Sarah struggle with a new blow in her life, and the arrival of her sister Emi won’t make things any easier. Meanwhile, Pardo is concerned about starting a new relationship and how it could affect his family. Single mother Gracie will have to deal with her mother-in-law, who will bring back painful memories of her past. Luis (Francesc Orella) sees his plans to spend more time with the family upended by unexpected news.

The series will be directed again by Alejo Flah (“Taxi a Gibraltar”) alongside Mar Olid (“Live Without Permission”), Violeta Zalama (“Alegría”) and Adolfo Valor (“Kings of the Night”).

Season two was penned by the same writers as season one: Daniel Martin Serrano, Sarah Alquizar and Alba Karbalal.
