The Marvel Cinematic Universe is already preparing for its next two “Coronation” films. first of monday, Avengers: Kang Dynasty, earned a director in Destin Daniel Cretton, who led Shang-Chi and Legend of the Ten Rings. The movie is to be written by him Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania Writer Jeff Lovins. Not much has been said about its follow-up, Avengers: Secret Wars but now, it looks like production has taken an exciting step forward. Not only an associated writer, but they’re already part of the MCU family.
Marvel Studios reportedly hired Michael Waldron to write Avengers: Secret Wars, according to Limit. The Rick and Morty The alum appears to be a primary choice given his other MCU credits. Waldron previously worked as lead writer and EP at Tom Hiddleston lokiand later climbed Doctor Strange in a multiverse of madness To fix that story after the departure of director Scott Derrickson. Marvel has not commented on the move, and of course, the plot details on the Avengers flick are tightly kept.
Michael Waldron isn’t just a solid choice for the project due to the fact he’s handled Marvel fare before. It’s the kind of MCU productions he’s been in that makes him a logical addition to the production. with lokiWaldron has opened the door to a whole new side of the cinematic universe by building on the rules of time travel and alternate timelines. He also subtly introduced the Kang variant in Jonathan Majors’ He Who Remains during the show’s first season finale.
And of course, the writer also opened the multiverse wide open through his work on Dr. Gharib sequel. One would think that there would be a lot of multiverse events in secret warsso the creator of the Heels could be the only one dealing with the craziness that would ensue for sure.
More is coming…
