With September in the back view, we’re now affectionately referred to as Spooky season/Halloween time. The month started with a bang for those who have Hulu اشتراك subscriptionThe streaming service released a special on October 1 starring Drag Queens and Kings Halloween Dragstravaganza. The fun project hosts RuPaul’s Drag Race Ginger Ming symbol who compared Hulu’s depiction to The movie made for TV last year The dog who stole Christmas.

Ginger Ming is the cause of the season on Halloween, as she got the role of Opposite the house of medler in hocus pocus 2in addition to starring in Halloween Dragstravaganza (Opens in a new tab). As you can see in the video above, I had the privilege of speaking with Ginger before the special was released, asking her to compare the experience of filming it to VH1’s The dog who stole Christmas. She opened up about these two different holiday projects, and she told me:

The movie we did on Christmas last year had a great time, but we didn’t really get much input about our characters, what we said, or how we dressed. Because those were characters that were specifically written. But with something like that, they all threw it at us first. Then they wrote it through our input so that it felt more real, and a little truer for who we are. We have a lot of opinions on what we wear and how we dance, and all of those kinds of things. It felt like a very collaborative experience.

Well, there you are. It seems that the process of filming Halloween Dragstravaganza It was a unique experience to shoot her own previous vacation to Ginger Ming. The differences become apparent early in the casting process, and the way the original Hulu was cast around the cast of Drag Performers. Fortunately, Minj plays a killer role in both projects, which are great for rewatching during their holidays.

While The dog who stole Christmas It was a classic made-for-TV movie that aired on VH1 last winter, Halloween Dragstravaganza It’s a completely different broadcasting project. In it we see Ginger Minj and RuPaul’s Drag Race The Monét X Change award winner serves as our host, singing and dancing his way through the different seasons of the streaming special. Ginger plays her part this time around, which undoubtedly helped her feel “organic” as she called it.
