HBO Max develops Dan Levy’s exit strategy for multi-cam comedy

Dan Levy has prepared the multi-camera comedy “Exit Strategy” for development on HBO Max, diverse I learned exclusively.

The half-hour show will follow “three best friends (Marcus, Dave and Sarah) in their early twenties who all have the same terrible start and all hate their boss,” the official line says. “This trio has to start their lives, and Marcus, the crew leader, thinks the only way to do that is to quit their horrific job. However, before Marcus gets his chance, his boss fires him first. Now he really hates him.”

Levi created the series and also serves as executive producer and show director. Executive Producer via Screaming Elliot Productions.

Levi has written for a large number of TV shows throughout his career, most recently writing and co-producing the Hulu series How I Met Your Father. He is currently writing a pilot for the Peaocck series “True to Size,” based on the beginning of Kevin Hart’s career as a sneaker seller. Prior to that, Levi created the NBC comedy series “Indebted” and co-hosted the HGTV series “House Hunters: Comedians on Couches”. His other television writing credits include “The Goldbergs”, “Mulaney”, “Whitney” and “The Awesomes”.

Levi is also an accomplished comedian. He is currently touring with John Mulaney on his “From Scratch” arena tour. Levy’s latest special, “Lion,” was released in 2016. In addition to this, he has appeared on shows like “Late Night with Seth Meyers” and “Comedy Central Presents”.
