Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascon announced Wednesday that television producer Eric Weinberg has been charged with 18 counts of sexually assaulting five women between 2014 and 2019. A $5 million bond.
Weinberg, 62, has been charged with six counts of sexual penetration using force, four counts of oral intercourse, three counts of forced rape, two counts of sexual battery with restraint, and one count of likely forcible assault. The attorney general’s office stated that Weinberg approached two women in public on two separate occasions in 2014 and told them he was a photographer, and in each case, he had contact with victims who eventually went to his home where he was accused of crimes. sexually assaulting them. Weinberg allegedly repeated this procedure in 2017 with another victim. In addition to this, he is also accused of sexually assaulting two women in separate incidents in 2018 and 2019.
“The defendant relied on his Hollywood credentials to lure girls to take pictures where he allegedly sexually assaulted them,” said Attorney General Gascon. “Power and influence can corrupt some to hurt others often resulting in lifelong trauma to those who fall victim. The Victim Services Office in my office is here to assist in the healing process to ensure that all victims receive the guidance and support they need on the path to recovery.”
Weinberg was arrested in Los Feliz in early July, the Los Angeles Police Department initially confirmed diverse. He was released and re-arrested when new charges surfaced. He is expected to appear for trial on October 25 at Section 30 of the Fultz Center for Criminal Justice, where the case was filed for an arrest warrant on September 30.
The case is still under investigation by the Los Angeles Police.
