Amazon is dropping $300 off a 13-inch Surface Laptop 4, and it’s now $900

Microsoft’s Fall 2022 Surface event is coming up tomorrow, and that usually means you’ll find huge price cuts for last-generation Surface products. With Amazon Prime Early Access sales going from October 11 to October 12, Microsoft has lowered the price of the Surface Laptop 4 in its Amazon store. The price of the device’s 13-inch model has now dropped from $1,199 to just $899, saving you $300.

Although the Surface Laptop 4 is now over a year old and will likely be replaced by the Surface Laptop 5 soon, this model is still a good buy. It has a proprietary AMD Ryzen 5 Surface Edition CPU under the hood, along with 16GB of RAM. This is also paired with a 256GB solid-state drive. For students, this is a great machine. You’ll work through web browsing, social media, and other common tasks without a problem, especially since there’s 16GB of RAM. And since it has a touchscreen that supports the Surface Pen, students or anyone who buys this laptop can draw on the screen and annotate web pages or other documents.

Other than that, the Alcantara fabric on the keyboard deck is quite luxurious and sets this device apart from all metal laptops. It helps with portability as it’s one of the thinnest 13-inch laptops you can get as well. Oh, unlike MacBooks, there are USB-C ports, as well as USB-A ports on this machine. Microsoft has also placed Omnisonic speakers inside the system for immersive sound.

Note that this is a 13.5-inch Surface Laptop 4. A 15-inch model is also available. However, it will be priced much higher. If there’s one thing we don’t like about the system, it’s the 720p webcam. This isn’t limited to 2022, but you can always invest in an external webcam later to help enhance your calling experience.
