‘Dancing with the Stars’ Disney + Night: Selma Blair breaks her seventh streak

“Dancing With the Stars” once had one of its most popular weeks on Monday night, with each star performing routines to hit Disney+ hits. While many of the chores were on the faster side, the passion was still high.

Selma Blair and Sasha Farber were tasked with stepping into “The Muppet Show Theme” from “The Muppet Show,” and she was feeling the pressure. Before her routine, she admitted that after performing a blindfolded last week, she thought she’d score higher than the four 7-point scores she got every week. She said it was a “wake-up call” that she wasn’t impressing the judges the way she wanted. Fortunately, after the quick move this week, the pair were thrilled to receive four 8s for the first time.

One of the most memorable moments of that night came when Wayne Brady and Whitney Carson performed a jazz routine for “Wait for It” from “Hamilton,” the musical he’d already starred in in Chicago. The performance, which Lynne Goodman described as “exceptional,” left Brady in tears.

“It’s so touching to be able to beat your own expectations,” he said after the dance. “I was hitting myself the whole time. I wanted to make my family proud of me.”

Gabe Wendy and Val Chmerkowski’s quick move to “Mr. Blue Sky” from “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” also impressed the jury, with Carrie Ann Inaba telling her, “You have everything you need to win this contest.”

The Last Dance of the Night, the jazz routine of “The Simpsons” by Charlie DiAmelio and Mark Ballas, left everyone in awe. The routine put them at the top of the leaderboard in a three-way tie, along with Wendy, Chmerkovskiy, Brady and Carson.

At the end of the night, Sam Champion and Sheryl Burke were second with Trevor Donovan and Emma Slater. In the end, Donovan and Slater were saved.

Next week, “Dancing with the Stars” will feature two new episodes. Monday night will be the “most memorable year” and Tuesday will be “Prom”, both of which will be broadcast on Disney+.
