Houston, Texas (KTRK) – A fatal crash closed all westbound lanes of the I-10 East Freeway to northbound I-45 near downtown Houston.
The wreck occurred at about 3:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
According to Houston Police Sgt. David Rose, two trucks collided in the driveways to the ramp of the I-45 entrance. Drivers were going fast on the highway.
During the collision, one of the truck drivers lost control and ended up going through all the moving lanes of traffic, crashing into the trees between the I-10’s actual main lanes and the ramp.
One person was suspended inside the car. When paramedics arrived, they found him dead.
The driver in the other truck was not harmed, Rose said, adding that a woman was inside the truck as well. Both are expected to be fine, with minor injuries.
The authorities are working to identify the culprit.
