Houston, Texas (KTRK) – The sister of an 82-year-old man who was shot and killed said she received a mysterious phone call just minutes before her brother was found dead in his apartment.

Bessie Osborne, sister of Henry Roberts, told ABC13 that a man called her home from her brother’s number and asked for $200.

Osbourne said she did not recognize the man’s voice and knew her brother had just made the money.

When Osborne arrives at Roberts’ apartment in Anna Dupree’s living quarters, she finds the house has been broken into and her brother is in a pool of blood.

The Houston Police Department said Roberts died of a bullet to the head earlier that Saturday.

Houston police said they believe the suspect is a man in his 20s, about 5 feet 7 inches, and of medium build.

Roberts’ sister knew something was off when a man got upset with her brother’s phone because she refused to give him any money.

Osborne said she told the caller she was on her way to the apartment, but he was gone when she got there.

“The apartment was completely looted,” Osborne said. “So, I think they were looking for money because they asked to borrow $200 from me, and they called. My brother had Asma on his phone, so he called these people, and asked if he could borrow $100.”

Roberts family started a file GoFundMe To help with funeral expenses.
