Where does Ghost Rider go in his latest story?

Marking the character’s 50th anniversary, writer Benjamin Percy and artist Corey Smith wanted to bring the character back to its roots by honoring all the creators who had worked on books starring the character before.

“For Ghost Rider’s 50th Anniversary, I wanted to do something epic, so I dreamed up a cause I directed and celebrated the brutal legacy of all the creators and stories that came before me,” Ghost rider Writer Benjamin Percy told ComicBook.com via email earlier this year.

“I did this by fusing a larger story—about Johnny Blaze nowadays—with smaller stories that highlight Danny, the Midnight Boys, Ghost Rider 2099, and more, and much, much more, including never-before-seen iterations of Soul Vengeance. We will travel to the distant past and the near future, and the framework for all of this includes a haunting new character known as Necro the Tattooist,” added Percy. “It brings to the surface the secrets we carry under our skin. Juan Jose Reap is the designated artist for this anniversary issue, and he is particularly adept at conjuring up beautiful nightmares. Brace yourself: This issue will leave its burning rubber stamp on you.”
