In just over three weeks, the Apple Watch Ultra has become one of the hottest fashion accessories of the year — Apple’s first adventure watch, with its conical orange “look-at-me” wristband and massive 49mm screen, it caused quite a stir. market. However, after putting it on my wrist for the past few weeks, alternating with Apple Watch Series 8There’s one thing I think a big, bold sports watch can do better.
It’s really very simple. While I’m used to the Ultra’s massive display, I miss the elegant starlight finish of the Apple Watch 8. Sure, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and the Ultra is by no means an ugly watch, but in the office, or a night out with friends, I feel like it look Like sports watches, this is partly due to the titanium bezel.
While Apple gives you the option to choose between bands, there is only one option for the new Adventure Watch’s frame.
Of course, this is done on purpose. Apple designed this watch to be tough on the mountainside, and it doesn’t look very attractive with my new Monica Vinader bracelet on a night out. “Titanium strikes the perfect balance between weight, toughness, and wear resistance,” Apple writes about its Ultra Watch. and here he is Tough – Check what happened when the Apple Watch Ultra was tested for durability. If you’re planning on going out on an adventure, this watch will handle bumps and drops much better than the Series 8.
On the other hand, if I spend $799 on a watch, I want to be able to wear it 24/7, especially when said watch is designed to track my steps, calories, standing time, sleep, heart rate, and more. Heck, it even tells me when to expect my next period (read more about Skin temperature sensor on Apple Watch over here).
I wear a smartwatch constantly – weddings, nights out, family events, I’m still stamping my rings. So I hope Apple has given users more options when it comes to Ultra.
This does not mean that Apple will not make this change later. There are two case materials, and seven different finish cases for the Apple Watch Series 8, so Apple will likely expand its Apple Watch Ultra offerings in the future. If we look at similar products, such as the Garmin Fenix 7 (read My Apple Watch Ultra vs Garmin Fenix 7 face-off here), which offers users silver, gold, and cream-gold bezels among the sporty-looking options, and I’m clearly not alone in wishing my sports watch looked beautiful on my wrist when I’m not exercising.
I’m well aware that I strayed into the area of a spoiled brat here. The Apple Watch Ultra is an excellent watch (read My Apple Watch Ultra review here), which is by no means ugly. I just hope in the future I’ll be able to customize it a bit more. Until then, I’ll be that girl in the wedding photos with the huge watch on her wrist.
