TelevisaUnivision, Globo Unveil Production, Distribution Alliance

Kan – In a partnership between the two largest media companies in Latin America and the USA, TelevisaUnivision and Globo have created a strategic alliance for distribution and co-production, focusing on fiction content.

The partnership began with three fictional productions.

The first two productions are productions by ViX+, TelevisaUnivision’s SVOD service: the recently launched “La Mujer del Diablo” (“Devil’s Wife”), and the upcoming series “Travesuras de la Niña Mala” (Bad Girl), based on the book by Mario Vargas. josa; Globo brings to the table Globoplay Original telenovela “Todas as Flores” (“All Flowers”), which was shown at Mipcom on Tuesday.

Season 1 of “La Mujer del Diablo” is available exclusively on ViX+ in the US, and throughout Spanish-speaking Latin America, while “Travesuras de la Niña Mala” will premiere on ViX+ later this year.

Both series will be shown in Brazil on Globoplay. “Todas as Flores,” which premieres October 19 on Globoplay, will be available on ViX+ before any other platform in the Americas. As part of the deal, outside of the Americas, the two companies will coordinate distribution efforts to the rest of the world.

“These two companies are world-renowned for their high quality and prolific production engines, and both are responsible for some of the most popular and well-known films and series,” said Pierluigi Gazzolo, President and Transformation Director of TelevisaUnivision.

He added, “It’s really a great opportunity for us to be able to take this content to our massive audience, who are used to enjoying great storytelling and production quality from both Globo TV and TelevisaUnivision.”

“Both Globoplay and ViX+ have the ambition to show that regional players are important competitors in the world of live broadcasting,” said Eric Britas, Chief Digital and Pay TV Channels Officer.

“By joining forces, Globo and TelevisaUnivision will enhance the reach and popularity of these high-potential products and strengthen their content offering. We believe this is only the first step towards a long-term collaboration between our companies.”

“Travesuras de la Niña Mala” was also presented at the Cannes Mipcom trade fair.
