Amber Anderson, Greta Bellamasina and Tamsin Egerton can be seen posing in wedding dresses alongside co-stars Jessica Plummer, Josette Simon and Bebe Kaif in first-look photos from the upcoming movie “Tell That to the Winter Sea.”
Anderson (“Peaky Blinders”) and Bellamasina (“This England”) star in Scarlett and Jo, two teenage dancing students whose intense friendship develops into a romance before it even begins on the course. But when the duo reunite decades later on the eve of Joe’s wedding — to a man — it turns out that deep feelings still linger.
In another scene from the movie, the group, still wearing wedding dresses, enjoys a candlelit dinner.
Meanwhile, Joe and Scarlett’s relationship is also explored in flashback sequences, where one sees a brunette Bellamasina holding Anderson’s hand, both in school uniforms.
Egerton (“Grimsby”), Plummer (“Ex-Girl”), Simon (“Anatomy of Scandal”) and Cave (“Potters”) co-starred as Jade, Lily, lead dancer Cat and Jane, all members of Joe’s Wedding.
“Looking at issues of love, relationships, and freedom through a modern feminist lens, the film was shot with an all-female and almost all-female cast,” reads the slogan.
The film was shot by director of photography Erin Gomez Emelson and designed by Sarah Winter. Jemima McWilliams was the casting director.
Kaleidoscope Film Distribution has acquired the film for the UK market and has international sales.
“Tell That to the Winter Sea” is produced by Sulk Youth Film, BKE and Valmora Production, with co-production by Luca Severi Production Group.
