Asasha Media Collaborates with Plano a Plano and Dopamine in the Thriller “Cicatriz” by “Casa de Papel”

Asacha Media Group, the expanding European company, is partnering with Spanish Plano a Plano and Mexican Dopamine in “Cicatriz,” a cutting-edge thriller based on the bestselling novel by Juan Gomez Jurado.

“Cicatriz” was developed by two famous writers, Pablo Roa and Fernando Sancristobal, whose works include “Toy Boy”, “La Casa de Papel” and “Vis a Vis”.

The high-concept series revolves around a brilliant but lonely businessman who is about to make his millions when he meets a young woman bent on a long-planned revenge mission. “Cicatriz” will be fronted by a prominent international cast and is currently in the funding stage.

The Asacha Media Group has joined as a strategic partner and will be involved in production, pre-sales insurance and the development of an international production strategy.

Plano a Plano is headed by Cesar Benitez, and Dopamine is headed by Videla Navarro. Both companies have proven track records, having produced highly successful Spanish-language series and formats, “Toy Boy” and “Amarres”.

The Asacha Media Group, backed by funds managed by Oaktree Capital Management, has become one of the largest European production studios dedicated to written content. The sign has production assets in France, the UK, Italy and the Middle East. It has recently acquired France’s Srab Films, the production banner behind the Oscar-nominated Les Miserables Ladj Ly which won Alice Diop in Venice “Saint Omer” and France’s 2023 Academy Award submission.
