Streamer BritBox International has appointed Robert Childhouse to a joint position as Executive Vice President of North America, where he has overseen the company’s growth in the United States and Canada, and as Managing Director of Group Marketing Services.
Shieldhouse, which will be based in New York, will report to Brit Box International CEO Rimah Population. His mission will be to drive growth, lead business development, operations programming, performance marketing, and commercial relationships for the broadcast network.
Childhouse previously joined Hulu prior to its launch in 2008, and led its content acquisition team, before moving to CBS Global Distribution Group as Senior Vice President of Digital Licensing and Distribution, where he eventually rose to Executive Vice President.
Britbox International is a joint company of BBC Studios and ITV that brings the best of British television to the world. Among the original titles that have recently commissioned broadcasts are “Archie,” a drama series about Cary Grant’s life. Britbox was recently launched in the Nordic countries and is now focused on expanding its presence in North America, Australia and South Africa.
