OnlyFans has made billions as a haven for sex workers and models to monetize content. Could this creator’s subscription site also become a home for NSFW outlandish comedy?
Comedian, actress, and audio publisher Whitney Cummings joins OnlyFans and, under an agreement with the company, is producing a new original show: “Unfiltered Original Roast Series,” which will be available exclusively on OFTV, the streaming platform and free app OnlyFan. Cummings herself will be the chain’s first uncensored roast.
Let’s get rid of the first question: Cummings won’t post nude photos of herself — or anyone else, for that matter — on her OnlyFans page. Instead, she plans to share unrestricted comedic bits about current events and whatever else she has in mind with her OnlyFans subscribers, material that may be distorted out of context on other platforms. She said the subscription would cost about $10 per month.
“I want to try jokes,” Cummings said. diverse. “I love the idea of writing and doing incendiary jokes… and talking about what’s going on right now. On Twitter, people will want to take it out of context.”

Cummings said she doesn’t have Judgment on sex workers.Moreover, she suggested that OnlyFans generally pay women more than traditional Hollywood establishments.“We have an internal misogyny: “Oh, women show their boobs.”…I think it’s cool. I see people taking advantage of themselves on other platforms and making number money.”
For OnlyFans, which brought in $4.8 billion in total revenue for fiscal year 2021, the deal to fund Cummings’ “Unfiltered Original Roast Series” and bring it to the platform is part of its effort to expand its creator community. The UK-based company recently requested a reality show featuring British reality TV stars Chloe, Demi and Frankie Sims after they exited OFTV’s “The Only Way Is Essex”, which is also slated to premiere in 2023. OnlyFans affiliate OFTV is also developing a series Realistic competition for UK and Irish comedians to compete for the chance to win £100,000.
The company’s strategy with Safe for-Work content that OnlyFans is commissioning for OFTV is to direct fans to creator pages. OnlyFans keeps 20% off revenue and gives the other 80% to creators. About her potential new source of income, Cummings said, “I would probably spend it all on saving animals…or just explode everything on bitcoin.”
Cummings said comedians have faced a backlash in popular culture, and the standards of what is acceptable have narrowed. She said that only fans could make a safe space for terrible comedy. “Now people are very angry with comedians. They think we are assholes,” she said. “For the past two years, people have been punching us in the face at award shows…People are throwing cans of beer at us.”
Cummings said that comedy is thriving on platforms like Twitter and YouTube, but many of the nuances are being lost. “If you say ‘QAnon’ or ‘Pizzagate’ in a YouTube video – and they don’t know the context of what you’re talking about – they instantly demonize your channel,” she said. “The mistake a lot of comedians make is that they offer free comedy on platforms and the context gets lost.”
Cummings’ “Unfiltered Original Roast Series,” which currently has five episodes, is set to premiere in early 2023 on OFTV. Episode one, “The Roast of Whitney Cummings,” will be hosted by Hannah Stocking with toasters to include Bob the Drag Queen, Jim Norton, Donnell Rawlings, Annie Lederman, Dan Levy, Robin Tran, and Louis J. Surprise guests.” Another confirmed roast so far is comedian Burt “The Machine” Krecher.
Cummings hopes the series will return to the popular Friars Club Roasts game. “He was Raghab writing great jokes,” she said. “It’s like boxing – people compete with each other.”
The “Unfiltered Original Roast Series” will also include a behind-the-scenes look at the show’s writers’ room, which Cummings said is designed to demystify the process that goes into making jokes to orchestrate roasts.
“I want to show these cool comics in a room, to show how sensitive we are to what on the surface seems to be something very reckless,” she said. “It’s a tremendous amount of thought that goes into it. It would be great to see how sausages are made. When comedy is done perfectly it is one of the most healing unifying things on the planet.”
The book room for the “Unfiltered Original Roast Series” will feature a roster of comedians including Madison Sinclair, Candice Thompson, Nicole Aimee Schrieber, Lara Beitz, Bridget Phetasy, Kim Congdon, Steph Tolev, Jessica Marie Singleton, Grace Weissend, Zach Noe Towers and Zahid Dubaji, Adam W., Nick Curzon, Ak Ameko, Alicia Cooper and Justin Martindale.
In addition to her live gigs and tours as a performer, Cummings has appeared in several stand-up comedy specials on Netflix, Comedy Central, and HBO, and hosts the weekly “Good for You” podcast. She also starred in the sitcom “Whitney”, which aired for two seasons on NBC from 2011-2013, and created “2 Broke Girls” with Michael Patrick King.
