Nick Carter pays tribute to Brother Aaron as the Backstreet Boys play a party

Nick Carter paid tribute to his younger brother Aaron, who died Saturday at the age of 34.

According to reports, the singer was found unresponsive in his bathroom at home in Los Angeles.

Nick Carter is currently in the UK on the last leg of the Backstreet Boys’ European Tour. The band is scheduled to take the stage at the O2 Arena in London on Sunday night (November 6).

In a statement on Instagram, Carter posted a series of photos of the two brothers together — as children, teens and adults — with a caption. Alongside the photos, he wrote: “My heart broke today.”

“Although my brother and I had a complicated relationship, my love for him never faded. I have always held onto hope, that one day he would want to walk a healthy path and finally find the help he so desperately needed. Sometimes we want to blame it on Someone or something is at loss. But the truth is that addiction and mental illness are the real villain here. I will miss my brother more than anyone knows. I love you, Chase. Now you have a chance to get some peace that you never found here on earth… oh My God, please take care of my little brother.”

Among the tens of thousands of responses, they included comments from Spice Girl Emma Bunton, who wrote: “I’m sad for you and your family. Sending so much love,” and TikTok star Rod, who commented: “Love you and your family Nick.”

After the tragic news, there has been speculation in the UK about whether the Backstreet Boys party at the O2 Arena, which seats 20,000, will go ahead as planned. On Sunday afternoon local time, the venue confirmed via Twitter that the band was scheduled to play. “Who’s ready to see the backstreetboys take to the stage tonight? Doors open at 6pm plus there are a few final seats available,” the official O2 account tweeted.

Earlier today, the band’s support stat, KnowleDJ, posted stories on Instagram that he believes the concert will go on. “Hi guys, I’m sorry for the confusion,” he wrote. “It’s a really delicate time and it hasn’t been easy for me. I’m just trying to help. As far as I’ve been told the show is happening and I’ll be there tonight doing my collection. But I would suggest checking the official websites to make sure things just change in the vase. Thank you for your patience and understanding. And let’s all pray for Nick and his family.”

Neither the official Backstreet Boys social media accounts nor the individual band members have publicly mentioned the London concert, but fans who arrived at the venue on Sunday afternoon confirmed on Twitter that it appears to be moving forward.

Some other events scheduled alongside the tour have been modified or canceled, including a planned meeting with Carter’s Backstreet Boys bandmate AJ McLean organized by nail polish brand Ava Dean Beauty. “Hello everyone, due to unforeseen circumstances, the Ava Dean Beauty event scheduled for November 6, 2022 has been cancelled. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Your order will be refunded to the original payment method within 5-7 business days.” The publication is signed “AJ and Ava Dean Beauty Team.”

In a similar meet-and-greet for the beauty brand held in Germany on Friday, he was joined by Maclean Carter and fellow Backstreet Boy Howie Duru.

After the concert in London, there are only two dates left on the European part of the tour for the band: Manchester, UK on Tuesday, 8 November, followed by an independent concert in Belgium on Thursday 10 November. A month-long break until the next leg of the US Tour begins on December 6 in Detroit.
